Six days passed. Six frantic days of checking their e-mail day and night. Six Torturous days of having the deafeningly loud KNGRRDRRWHEEZE resound in teir home, most nerve wrackingly. Maya Complained that she heard a permanent rumbling sound in her ears even when she was miles away from home and that her ears ached all the time. Arvind confessed That, for the first time in his life, he was actually looking forward to going to school considering it was as calm as a monastery compared to their house. Mrs.Krishnan had lost interest in painting. Zigzag would sometimes wake up briefly when he wanted to eat some fruit, and sometimes he would sit on the veranda looking sulky and bored as he stared at the sunset at Marina beach- the real view, not the painting lying forlorn in one corner, ruined by streaks of hardening papaya. Zigzag never spoke to anyone, though everyone tried several times, and in several languages, to speak to him kindly. He only slept. And snored.
QUESTIONS:
1) How many days did they check for an e-mail reply?
2) What was Maya’s complaint ?
3) What was Mrs.Krishnan’s hobby ?
4) When did the Zigzag wake up?
5) Did the ZigZag speak to any one of the family members?

SPEECH WRITING
Write a speech for your School Literary Association Celebration.
Good morning to the respected Chief guest, head master, teachers, my friends and all present here. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to deliver my speech at this auspicious occasion. Our schools literary association is a prestigious one as it has been taking and organising many initiative events and activities for the development of English language. It has been functioning rigorously since it has started. It has been giving various trainings, exercises for the students and the members for developing their English language literacy, It’s giving continuous practices for the development of basic skills like listening, speaking, reading and writing. Without a language we cannot communicate. Without English language literacy we can not go anywhere of the world. So our literacy association has been conducting many competitions, workshops etc yearly for encouraging the students to take part actively and exhibit their literary talent. Finally let me conclude with my gratitude to my respected Chief guest, head master, teachers and all for honouring and giving me this wonderful responsibilty and opportunity. Thank you.
