Our country is a great land for the greatest epics, stories and tales of many kinds. Our ancestors used the art of story telling for many centuries to guide, give advice, to educate and to entertain the people. There are many kinds of stories in various categories. Most of the stories are spinned around a particular moral value. Everybody likes story particularly children like stories very much than the adults. There are millions of children and adults stories on various genres are available among them, Animal Stories, Thenaliraman stories,Panchatantra tales, Stories with morals etc are so famous and liked by all. Now a days the art of story telling has been reduced, we can't see many story tellers around us. The art of story telling were flourished until our ancestors lived in the big or joint family setups. But now a days we can't see the joint family setups widely, It had become very rare as everybody chooses to live a compact and selfish family life. Story telling not only helped the children and the adults to passing their leisure time usefully but also it taught many secrets, values, science etc through it. We can say many novel things about the story telling and it's great benefits for the mankind.

TWO KINGFISHERS- A Moral Story
There was a dense forest at the foothill of a mountain,
there lived two Kingfishers happily on their tree houses.they were friends from their childhood.Their place was surrounded by beautiful green trees, rivers, lakes and even salty lake. So they never felt scarcity for food .They could catch big and juicy fishes whenever they wish to have something for their breakfast, lunch or for dinner.Therefore they never bothered for anything, playing and eating were their everyday leisure time activites. But among them ZUDO was the wisest one and had the habit of saving some food for the future as per his parents guidance. But RUKI was different he was a spendthrift,He did not like the habit of saving. But his parents insisted him to have an eye about the feature and try to save somthing for the feature. He neither remembered his parents' advice nor followed the way of his friend ZUDO.
Everything went fine for them for some years. But they faced their first difficulty in their life due to the sudden climatic changes in their area. The level of water and the fishes available around them reduced into half. This unfavorable changes in their surroundings made ZUDO to think about his future. He realised the prevailing condition and danger of the future. So he started to think and take all the preventing measurements inorder to face any risk in future. He Also asked RUKI to do so but he did not pay attention to him. ZUDO drafted some important ideas.As per his one of the ideas he collected some salt from the nearby lake and filled it in a secret rack inside of the tree.Then he started to fetch juicy and big fishes and persevered them for his future use.
ZUDO not only preserved the fishes but also saved water in his secret rack.He also requested his friend LUKI to take some preventive measures and preserve some fishes in his house for his future.But he was lazy and careless and he did not hear and respect ZUDO's advice. He laughed at ZUDO whenever he brought some fishes to preserve in his house. He asked him to enjoy the life like him.He further said that " We have a lot of food around here so we need not save anything for our future, so it's a stupid idea, I don't want to waste my life like you by thinking about the future, as I know how to live comfortably, so come on ZUDO don't waste your time, come and enjoy man".listening to his speech ZUDO did not tell him anything further.
Some months rolled on, ZUDO and RUKI were living in their own ways. ZUDO almost saved enough food and water.But nothing has changed RUKI's mind. Unexpectedly due to failure of seasonal rainfall and drought most of the water bodies around the forest became drylands without water,they could only see a little bit of water at some places wherever trees were thickly covered. ZUDO and RUKI struggled a lot to get their food, they searched far and wide at all the lakes, rivers and ponds wherever they found some water.But they could not get enough food.They returned home without any food for sometimes.
However ZUDO managed the situation as he was preserving enough food and water. But RUKI was not able to manage the situation as he had nothing in his rack. Many times he slept without eating he also ashamed to ask his friend for food often.So he became very thin and weak day by day and was not able to fly and play like he did before. Realising his friend's condition, ZUDO helped him for sometime with food and water but it was not enough for him to regain his strength and health back.
RUKI realised his mistakes and ashamed of himself for his pathetic condition. As he became very weak and motionless he asked his friend ZUDO nearby to him. RUKI thanked him for all his unconditional love, and asked him for his apology for his mistakes.ZUDO tried to keep him alive, so he encouraged him to be normal, but he could not do so, as his condition was very worst. RUKI lost his hope for his life so he teared a lot and caught his friend ZUDO's hand tightly and said " I should have listened to your advice and saved some food and water for the future...". Suddenly RUKI's speech stopped and his Body became motionless as he died. ZUDO cried a lot and murmured in a husky voice that..." Good bye my friend ! May your soul rest in peace don't forget, in your next birth you should always remember the importance of savings ! You must save something for your better and respectful Present and feature life.
